I visited Cyprus in 2015. As usual, the purpose of my trip was to study the local Roman sites for my dissertation. And as usual, I ended up exploring a whole host of other historical places along the way. I was especially impressed by the medieval and early modern ruins of Famagusta and St. Hilarion Castle.
